Terrell Owens signs with Bengals
After much ado and weeks of speculation, receiver Terrell Owens has found a home for the 2010 NFL football season and agreed to terms with the Bengals.
Per a league source, Owens will receive a base salary of $2 million, plus he can earn up to another $2 million in performance incentives.
The source says that the incentives are based on receptions, yards, and touchdowns.
It will be hard to imagine Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco playing on the same field together in the same uniform. Both are adamant trash talkers and they both want the ball on every play. They also both love the camera, so it is going to be interesting to see how they work that out together.
Just two weeks ago, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said that the Bengals had no interest in Owens and that they were completely satisfied with the receivers that had on the roster already.
That all changed when Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer worked out with T.O., threw him some passes. He then told the Bengals brass that he looked great, was in excellent shape and that they should seriously consider bringing him on board.
And on Tuesday, they did just that. Terrell Owens is officially a Cincinnati Bengal!
