It’s Official; Yao is Back
Written by Travis Pulver, Thursday July 22 2010
The Houston Rockets were better than expected last season without 7’6” All Star center Yao Ming on the court. Things are looking up for the2010-11 season now that Yao has announced that he has accepted his player option and will indeed be coming back.
"To miss one year is a long time…I've never been in this situation before, and I'm getting as much information as I can about my foot, to see what's the best for me and best for the Rockets. I decided a couple of days ago, and there's no one better than the Rockets now." (NBA)
Ming was lost for the 2009-10 season after suffering an injury during the playoffs the year before; he expects to be at 100% when training camp begins.
With Yao coming back to the team the Rockets may make a push for some of the free agents still on the market like Chris Paul.
