ESPN analyst Erin Andrews has sued several hotel chains for negligence and invasion of privacy. The suit is in connection to the secret videotaping of her naked through the peep hole of the hotel room door.

Andrews named eight defendants in the lawsuit and most were hotels or related entities, except for Michael David Barrett, the former insurance salesman from Illinois who plead guilty to stalking last year in connection with the incident. He is currently serving a two-year prison sentence.

Andrews alleges that Barrett called the hotels to find out if she made reservations. She also claims that the hotels confirmed that she had made reservations and intended to register and that the hotel staffs revealed her room number to Barrett.

Videos were taken by Barrett through a modified peephole while the ESPN analyst was undressed in Marriot and Radisson hotel rooms in Nashville, Tenn. and Milwaukee in 2008. Tapes of Andrews were posted on the Internet, and ultimately were seen by hundreds of thousands of people before being removed.

Internet copies of the video also caused numerous computer viruses to those who opened the file up to view them.

Andrews filed the lawsuit in Cook County court in Chicago on Thursday against Marriott International, Radisson Hotels International and other chains.

The Marriott and the Radisson declined to comment on the suit.
