Kentucky vs South Carolina Preview

Those looking at the Super Bowl betting line will see two No.1 seeds battle for it all in Miami. At South Carolina on Tuesday night, college basketball betting players will watch the newly-crowned No.1 team, Kentucky, take on the Gamecocks, and the Wildcats should be able to handle the pressure better than Texas or Kansas ever did.

Kentucky vs South Carolina odds – Tuesday, 9:00 PM ET

The Wildcats (19-0, 4-0) are the lone unbeaten nation in the country, and they have numerous ways to beat you. They can kill you on the perimeter with the freshman duo of John Wall and Eric Bledsoe at the guard position, or they’ll go inside to DeMarcus Cousins or Patrick Patterson. Did we mention that Kentucky can play defense as well? The only thing that can stop Kentucky from being a No.1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and a March Madness betting favorite is complacency, because their talent has overcome their inexperience, so far.

The Gamecocks (11-8, 2-3) have lost three games in a row, and all three losses have come by 10 points or less, so you know that South Carolina isn’t far off. The problem is injuries, as guard Devan Downey is carrying the team on his shoulders. Downey leads the SEC in scoring and has poured in 20 points or more in seven of his eight games. However, Dominique Archer is probably gone for the season with a knee injury, and fellow forward Mike Holmes has a facial injury. With these two in the lineup, the floor would more spaced for Downey. As of right now, he just tries to shoot his team into wins.

Bookmaker odds (bookmaker reviews) should favor the Wildcats in this contest, and they’ve won eight of their last 10 in South Carolina. The Gamecocks won last year’s game by a score of 77-59, and the Wildcats would love to avenge that loss. This could get ugly if South Carolina doesn’t get off to a good start, because the Wildcats push the ball and don’t stop for 40 minutes. The Wildcats have more talent and depth than the Gamecocks, and the South Carolina injuries up front put them at a distinct disadvantage against Cousins and Patterson. Look for the Wildcats to roar in this one.

Sportsbook pick: Kentucky
