 Penguins vs Canucks Preview

Before checking out your NFL betting options for the weekend, take a look at an NHL betting matchup taking place in Vancouver on Saturday night as Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh will face the Canucks to wrap up a five-game road trip. Crosby has been phenomenal this year, and Vancouver fans will get a glimpse of what they could see at the Olympics next month.

Penguins vs Canucks odds – Saturday, January 16, 10:00 PM ET

Thursday’s 3-2 win in Edmonton was the first time on this road trip that Crosby failed to register a point, but he still has four goals and a pair of assists to lead the way. Crosby has been shooting more than usual this year, and he’s had to as Evgeni Malkin has been struggling.  Marc-Andre Fleury has been stronger in goal lately, only looking shaky in a 4-3 loss in Minnesota on Monday.

The Canucks have lost three in a row, and got some unwanted attention when Alex Burrows accused referee Stephane Auger of having a personal vendetta against him. This has led some people to believe that the Canucks won’t get the benefit of calls from referees, who are a tight clique. However, Burrows just needs to get back to playing hockey, as he has 10 goals in his last six games. Goaltender Roberto Luongo was pulled in a 5-2 loss to Minnesota on Wednesday, but the No.2 goalie on the Canadian Olympic team should be okay for this showdown.

US sportsbook odds (US sportsbook reviews) should favour the Canucks at home, where they are a stellar 18-7-1. Fleury will be looking to outdo the goalie who is ahead of him in the pecking order for Team Canada, so it could be a low-scoring affair. The key will be whether or not the Canucks can slow down Crosby, who has 21 points in 26 road games this year. Crosby is carrying this team on his back, and the rest of squad seems to be responding to their captain right now. Meanwhile, on the other end of the ice, the Canucks have to shake off the Burrows controversy and get down to business to build some momentum to take into the Olympic break. It won’t come on Saturday night, though.
