Eagles in Unfathomable Position
Written by Joe Pawlikowski, Tuesday January 06 2009
The Eagles, coming off of a 26-14 victory in Minnesota, are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. Can they knock off the defending super bowl champions in the Meadowlands? Recent playoff success among road teams and the history of Eagles-Giants at the Meadowlands says yes.
Chicago Bears 2008 Season
The Chicago Bears of 2008 had their ups and their downs. They missed the playoffs on the last game of the year in a loss to the Houston Texans. Although they had a winning record of 9-7 which was an improvement from the 7-9 record of 2007, this season was still a major disappointment.

NFL Picks Divisional Round: There’s No Place Like Home
Written by Daniel Turner, Tuesday January 06 2009
Before starting I should note that I went 2-2 last week, so like the AFC West Champs ended their regular season, I am .500. Now to business, while home field advantage has its merits, being the better team never hurts. In other words, if you are the best it doesn’t matter if you are home, on the road, or playing on the moon. You are the better team.
NCAAF: Horns edge Bucks in Fiesta Bowl Classic...and I Missed it
Written by Hopper, Tuesday January 06 2009
To anyone wishing to know the play-by-play of last night's Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, this article is not for you. This article is for anyone who is in the same boat as I am, stunned at the fact that this game even took place last night.
I had every intention of watching this game, at least the end of it. But, because of poor scheduling, I didn't even know the game took place last night. I wish I did, because it turned out to be a real classic, with Colt McCoy trowing the game winning touchdown pass with 16 seconds to go in the game. Texas went on to win 24-21.
But the BCS has their games scheduled so far apart that it's difficult to remember what games are on when. And with people getting back into the swing of things(school, work, ect), we don't have enough space in our brains to remember the dates of these games. Instead of scheduling these games on back-to-back nights, or running them on weekends, they scheduled them on random nights. I mean, the Orange Bowl was New Years Day, and the Sugar Bowl was the next night. Simple enough. But the Orange Bowl was scheduled 3 nights later on a Monday. And the National Championship game is scheduled 3 days from then(last night) on a Thursday. What bonehead came up with this?
If they scheduled these games on back-to-back nights like the Orange and Sugar Bowls, we wouldn't have this problem. Even if these games would have been scheduled on weekends it would have been alright. But to run 2 games, wait 3 days, and have a game played on Monday? I can't be the only one who forgot it was on.
Just to be sure, the National Championship game is on Thursday night, right?

Steelers Vs. Chargers, Round Two
Written by Jennifer Pizzuto, Monday January 05 2009
Big Ben Rothlisberger passed his final post-concussion exam, albeit with a “D,” but they’ll still pass him—athletes get all the breaks. He’s ready for the Chargers on Sunday, and thank the Lord for that. Pittsburgh's Holiday Tree turned "Terrible Tree" needs to remain standing long enough for me to contribute the black and gold felt ornament that I’ve crafted with my own tiny hands. Alleghany County employees can merrily trim the Terrible Tree, spreading black and gold dust hither and thither, while fostering the spirit of post-season merriment (and all while being warmed by our tax dollars!). Such is the magic of the play-offs, and I do love them so.
